Who are we?

The Gozo Rugby Club is the official governing body for rugby in Gozo, an island within the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, Southern Europe.

Gozo RC has a senior mens rugby league team that partakes in the Malta Rugby League (MRL) Championship and has aspirations to also compete in the Rugby Union 10s too. Gozo RC is also involved in one-off friendly international fixtures and tournaments while also fielding teams in invitational tag rugby festivals on the Maltese Islands.

Gozo RC registered its first victory when it defeated Scottish team 'Ayr Boys' in a fixture of the 2011 Malta International Tag Rugby Festival.

Gozo rugby training venues include:
* Gozo Stadium, Xewkija
* Xewkija 5-a-Side Pitch, Xewkija
* Ramla Hamra
* Nadur Football Ground

Players from Gozo RC that are formally eligible to represent Malta are eligible for the Malta Knights national team and the Malta XIII representative team.

On November 2 2011, Gozo RC player/coach Clifford Debattista was named the Ray Morris Medal Winner for Maltese Rugby League Player of the Year, an award not previously won by a Gozitan player.

On August 6 2012, Gozo RC launched its club logo, playing kit and a major sponsor for three years - Ta Mattew Fish Farms Ltd.
